How We Receive Letters
From hand-written to copy-ready, we receive letters in any way the missionaries can get them to us:

MAILING LIST MAINTENANCE
Every missionary’s list is a separate file in our database system. Names can be added manually or imported from either EXCEL or ACCESS programs. They are checked for accuracy and the extended barcode is added.
Sublists can be made to create mailing groups within the entire mailing list. Address changes and returns from the post office are corrected in the database and the changes are then forwarded to the missionary for their own records.
Your mailing list may be requested at any time and can be sent to you in hard copy format or as an email attachment. We can send it as either alpha text or in ACCESS or EXCEL format.

OTHER STUFF
- Pages can be printed either portrait or landscape.Letters are printed on light-colored paper with black ink unless you specify white paper.Photos are electronically scanned into the letter and will be in black/white. Color is available at extra cost.Addresses are corrected in the database before they are forwarded on to you.Please call or email us regarding any inserts you wish to include to make sure they can be handled by our equipment.“Z” folded inserts cannot be machine inserted.If you have any other requirements other than these standards please contact us beforehand.

ALLOWANCES
Rather than having missionaries pay our salaries, the staff of SMS/HIM have chosen to live by faith, as do those we serve. HIM missionaries do not receive personal compensation from the prayer letter expenses but rely on churches and individual donors for our ministry support.
If you wish to be involved financially with the prayer letter ministry of HIM please contact Roger Scholten for specific information. Each tax-deductible gift is deeply appreciated and a receipt and thank you note will be sent for each gift. Your contribution helps to keep the cost down of this service to the missionaries.
