Providing Appropriate Medical Equipment and the Gospel to the Nations

Mission Statement:

Providing appropriate medical equipment and the Gospel to the Nations.

Purpose Statement:

MedEquip Missions is a faith supported mission supplying appropriate medical equipment and biomedical equipment services to Christian medical missions in the developing world. We refurbish and repair donated medical equipment using volunteer biomedical equipment technicians. A few of those technicians agree to travel on teams to third world countries to repair equipment in Christian medical facilities. This is an immense encouragement for doctors and hospital staff enbabling us to build relationships and have opportunities to share our faith.

MedEquip Missions, an evangelical Christian mission and a ministry of Helps International Ministries, delivers quality medical equipment and biomedical technical aid to Christian healthcare ministries as an artery to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations.

Woody Woodson, founder of Vine International, said after two weeks with MedEquip

          Missions biomedical team in Guatemala,

"It is clear to me that the missing link in medical missions in the

developing world is the repair of equipment."

Welcome to MedEquip Missions website.  Please choose from the menu to the left to see a sampling of MedEquip's work and feel free to email us at adm1228@helpsinternationalministries.org for further questions. Jim Moore, certified biomedical technologist and Dennis McCutcheon, physician’s assistant, started MedEquip Missions out of their homes in 1998.

Jim Moore, a former Marine, has more than twenty years experience in electronics and was a senior biomedical technologist in a hospital for eighteen years. He now works for World Medical Missions/Samaritan’s Purse in Boone, NC, but remains a very active consultant and participant in the work of MedEquip Missions.

Dennis McCutcheon, a former Navy Corpsman, had been a physician’s assistant for twenty-two years in orthopedic surgery at West Virginia University and with Dr. David O. Lincoln, and Dr. Joseph Dement in Asheville, NC. Ordained by Calvary Chapel of Asheville, Dennis is now full-time with MedEquip Missions, devoted to both the work of MedEquip Missions and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ at every opportunity provided through this ministry.

A recent quote by Dr. Topple, missionary doctor, about MedEquip Missions:

“As one who has been in medical missions for 47 years I can say that biomeds are new kids on the block.  Hold it!  They are wonderful angels who have changed the face of mission hospitals all over the globe!  In earlier days every mission hospital was blighted with a junk yard of expensive equipment that was rusting away for lack of a spare part, lack of someone who knew how to correct the malfunction, or an antiquated machine that should have never left the docks in the USA.  Now all that is being corrected by these sophisticated technicians who come alongside administrators and medical personnel as part of the team.  Thank God for these special servants and support them!”
