Testimony of Dinesh Benjamin

Dinesh Benjamin came from a Hindu background from Madhya Pradesh state. He was into wrong habits and wrong company and worshipped idols. He smoked and drank as well as used drugs. He was also a drug smuggler and sold alcohol. After some time he fell sick with asthma. His wife became possessed with evil spirits. They went to many doctors but no treatment would help. They went to a witchcraft person who told Dinesh to serve in the temple if he wanted to become well. So he became a Hindu priest for 7 years. Ten years passed and he worsened to the point of death. Somebody took him and his wife to church. They went for 3 months. He got a vision where he saw himself distributing tracts. At that time he didn’t know what tracts were. He didn’t even have proper knowledge about Jesus. He prayed about the vision. God spoke to him through another vision. For 15 years now, he has been distributing tracts. After going to church, both were healed and started growing in the Lord. In 1995, they came to Delhi and served in the ministry for a year, but then felt led by the Lord to go back to Madhya Pradesh to serve. Ever since he returned, he has faced a lot of persecution. Once 70 people took hold of him while one held a knife near his stomach and said that if he said one word about Jesus they would put that knife inside his stomach. He spent 2 days in jail all the while praying and asking the Lord to strengthen him. Since then he has never looked back and is serving the Lord with courage and strength from the Lord. He desires to serve especially among the handicapped. Please pray for him.

To travel to these regions is like turning the clock back 100's of years.  Outreach is difficult due to the climate, geographical terrain and opposition to the Gospel.  Persecution of our dedicated workers is very common.
