Poland

Dr. David Summey, former HIM Director, was engaged in supportive ministry for several years with our Polish friends before he directed HIM's short term ministry to consider how teams might be involved in Poland to help build Christ's Kingdom. We have been blessed to continue our relationships with Wioletta Hatak, Adam and Mira Otrembra, Ryszard Paciocha, and the evangelical church in Koszalin, Poland that were established then. We took an investigative trip to Poland in 2005 and traveled with an amazing team the following summer. In 2007, we returned with three God-ordained teams. We were all blessed.

As we prayed about how needs and teams might match up for 2008, we received word from Wioletta (who serves as Poland's director of Youth for Christ) that our host church was not in a position to have a team that summer. In fact, as a national leader with great understanding, she has told us how the evangelical church across Poland is hurting, and how God was directing them to scale back projects and concentrate on interpersonal discipleships. Please join us as we continue to prayer for the Church in Poland.

On July 17-28, 2009, we took a short term mission team to Poland to assist the church in Wroclaw with their children's camp outreach aimed for the street kids of Wroclaw, ages 6-12.
