Mission & Purpose

Mission:
HIM's Leadership Teaching and Training Ministry focuses our efforts in areas of the world where few others choose to work, to assist national church leadership in evangelizing unreached people groups.

Purpose:
We believe that there is no better way today to evangelize unreached people groups than through the national church. An American missionary in the past was (and in some cases, may still be) very effective in reaching the lost for Christ. However, we believe that ultimately, a well-trained and equipped national pastor, evangelist or church leader is the most effective way to present the Gospel to a culture and accomplish the Great Commission. It is in this way that we, HIM staff, seek to focus our time and resources.

HIM assists and supports national pastors, evangelists and church leaders by:

• Teaching specifically-requested courses in selected overseas Bible colleges and seminaries
• Providing specialized training through HIM-funded conferences and seminars
• Financially supporting gifted church planters, evangelists and national Bible college and seminary faculty members chosen by HIM.
